Chicago MidWinter

EDC staff photo
I work with a great group of people! This picture was taken at Christmas with all the staff! A new "commercial" was recorded recently for our yellow page ad on the web. The very cute 7 year old in the video is my boss's daughter Lauren. There is also a 360 tour of our remodel.
Every February the Mid Winter Dental meeting is held in Chicago.  My co-worker and I drove up Wednesday after work for classes on Thursday and Friday.  This is the view out our hotel room on the 37th floor!

Lisa and Daniele with their Starbucks in the morning on the shuttle on the way to the conference center.

This guy was doing magic tricks and he had everyone sign up to win a XBox360, but you had to be present to win.  My co-worker Shari had signed up so I was waiting with her until he was finally done with his whole demonstration.  I decided to sign up too and eventually he got to the part where he was calling out names.  After about 12 names, with the winner not being present, he called out my name!  You should have seen the looks on the faces of everyone in the crowd!  They were so disappointed to finally see someone raise their hand!  So I gave them my information and even took a picture with the guy.  I have no need for a XBox and I would not have had the patience to wait if it wasn't for Shari, so of course I will be giving it to her.  (If it really does arrive in the mail!)

I had the BEST pulled pork on top of lettuce and avocado at the Fireplace Inn!  We had a great meal with the 8 of us from our office that attended the conference.

The next morning we woke up to SNOW!  Not a lot, but it was pretty!

We walked the floor for all the latest and greatest in the dental world.  I fell in love with a few things that would definitely make my life easier in the clinical setting.  Our boss was nice enough to purchase a few new instruments and some new fluoride products.

Daniele and Shari - on the shuttle back to the hotel.  Great trip, but exhausting!

Happy Heart Day!

My Sweetie surprised me this morning!
I came downstairs to get the kitchen cleaned up before the dishwasher repair guy arrived and saw the beautiful bouquet waiting on me.  (By the way - dishwasher is finally fixed!)
I also looked out the window to see about an inch of snow!
It is already mostly melted, but it was pretty to look at.
This cardinal must have thought he was pretty to look at.  He has been landing on the mirror, looking at himself upside down and trying to sit on the ledge at the window to look at himself all day! He just wants to ask that pretty bird to be his Valentine!

Library time

Super...

SUPER yummy chocolate chip cookies.
SUPER yummy wheel of cheese that makes me think of pac man.
SUPER foggy morning - I could barely see the stoplights!
SUPER Bowl 46 in Indianapolis!  We went downtown the cold wet Saturday before game day.
SUPER weird - I took a picture of this lady after she got out of her car with a goat on a leash at the Super Bowl!  Moments later, my phone/camera completely died!  So I blame it on the goat, but hours later I eventually figured out how to "hard restart" my phone and it is working again!  There were tons of people down town, probably all just a little crazy to willingly participate in all the madness!

Stomp

A couple weeks ago we took Craig's family to STOMP at IU auditorium.  We always have the hardest time figuring out what to get them for Christmas, so this year we asked them if they would enjoy the show and a weekend in Bloomington.  We all really enjoyed the show!  It kept us entertained and laughing for the full 90 minutes!
Carol, Cori, and Craig before the show!
We had a great weekend, even though everyone wasn't feeling the best!  Chad had shoulder surgery 5 days before, Dave had a sinus infection, and Carol's medicine didn't agree with her stomach!  But I would still call the weekend a success!

Decor

I have been trying to make the house feel a little more like home by actually putting holes in the wall and hanging some pictures.  Of course you just have to ignore the fact that trim and baseboard are still needed!

Front Entry looks a little better.  We received the "Barton" art from friends for Christmas.
