Memorial Day Weekend

Friday night was hot and humid...perfect for an outdoor project.  It was an easy enough project that I could handle on my own, since Craig was busy with writing a paper.
I got all the grass dug out...
...and added mulch on Saturday morning!  It looks better and it will be easier for me to mow around.
We put together a few potted plants to spruce up the front porch and back deck.

Pretty petunia!
Our cherry tomatoes are doing so well!  I can't wait!

Monday we spent some time at the farm visiting/working with the fam.  Beverly, 10, was very thrilled with driving the tractor.  In this picture she is throwing back some goldfish while Craig and Chad are loading the cart.

It was sooo hot, so anything to stay cool - Audrey watering the plants...and herself, her sister, Craig, Chad.  She had fun!

Bev and Aud.  Hard to believe Beverly has grown up so much since she was our little 3 year old flower girl!

Fun stuff we have been up to...

After the Indy Mini Marathon, we stayed in Indy for the night and had a great room with a view of the Indianapolis Indians field.  It was a beautiful evening for a game after we had refreshed with food and a nap.
There isn't a bad seat in the place and the tickets are very reasonable!  Which is why we went to another game a week later!
The super moon!
We have a new menu at home: anything grilled!  Kabobs, pineapple, peppers, chicken, and pork so far!  We had a beautiful evening to enjoy our fire pit and grill and plan on doing the same thing tonight!  (Come on over!)
Christina Perri came to the BlueBird in Bloomington this week!!!  She is most famous for her song "Jar of Hearts."

We didn't have the greatest view of the stage, but I loved all her music!

Thursday night I had the opportunity to go to Wine & Canvas!  The local periodontist invited several offices and we had a blast!  Whoever came up with this concept is genius! 8 from my office were able to attend.

After appetizers from Olive Garden, we sat down at our canvases and got started on the background.

Our instructor led us to create the same picture, but they all turned out very different!

I thought this painting was pretty challenging with all the freehand type drawing.  We kept blaming our mistakes on the paintbrush.  The instructor offered the advice that "maybe the paintbrush needs another glass of wine!"

Step by step making progress!

Some of my coworker's final touches.
My finished project...right now stored in the office!

Grayson parties down!!

Happy Birthday Grayson!
Eric Carle style!  Cute (hungry) caterpillar!

As soon as Grayson woke up from a nap to house full of people and presents, he was ready to dig in!
Yummy chocolate cupcake just for the birthday boy!
Grayson wasn't sure what to think about the bubble maker!
Cool dude!

Grayson in his new rocking chair just his size from Grandma and Grandpa Lindley.
Grandma and Grayson enjoyed some reading time.
Grandma Lindley and Grayson with sweet smiles!

Grayson is just too cool for Uncle Craig with their collars popped!

Growing and changing!

Not only are our plants growing, but already producing!  Craig has made guacamole with the cilantro, mint juleps with the spearmint, and the first cherry tomato has appeared!
We even bought a hose!  We are such legit gardeners!
I had to put the tomatoes in bigger pots with cages so I also re-potted my spider plants.  They were totally root bound!

Unfortunately the spruce on the corner of the house was planted way too close to the house and foundation, so we hired a crew to come take it down and get rid of all the debris.  We also had all the overgrown bushes chopped!

Our house looks very bare!  It really needs some landscaping!
